I am 28 and just found out that I did not get all my vaccines as an infant and young child. My mother can’t remember even if I got any at all. She said all she remembers is that there was a shortage when she tried to get it done in the late 70′s. Will this seriously affect my health later on in life? So far I have been pretty healthy. I have got the flu about every other winter, but many people do who have had their vaccines. I do suffer from sever sinus infections. Thats about all I can think of.

No, so far so good, but you can still be vaccinated as an adult, though most adults let their vaccinations expire…talk to your doctor, get some shots, ease your mind. Good luck!

Actually, childhood vaccinations wear off when they’re your age. If you didn’t get the childhood illnesses, you’re likely beyond getting them now. Many of the illnesses have been eradicated or new strains that go around are not protected by the old vaccines anyway. Don’t worry.

It doesn’t matter now, due to your age. They would have expired in your system by now.
If you’ve never had the mumps, measles, or chicken pox, etc,(childhood diseases),then you need to get them. It’s not too late.
Tell your doctor. Just because your mother can’t remember what vaccines you’ve had or noy makes no difference.
Just make an appoinment with your doctor and tell him. He will give you all the shots that you require.
You’ll be the safest person in your age group because few people ever go back to get their booster shots.
We would be more likely to catch something than YOU. Ours have worn off.

Many of the vaccines aren’t safe for adults. Talk to your doctor and ask what you should do. Then read about the vaccines and decide what you want to do about it.
