I work at an elementary school with children whose parents come and go to Mexico on a regular basis. The swine flu is something I’m a bit worried about (especially since my pregnant girlfriend works at the same school) and i was just wondering what are some of the symptoms that victims of the swine flu are experencing?
Im actually scared, because Ive been having a stuffy nose anda sore throat lately and nothing seems to get rid of it!

What are the symptoms of swine flu in humans?
The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Some people with swine flu also have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea

The symptoms are the same as regular flu, only a test in a hospital or by your doctor can show for sure.

I think people should be concerned but in a smart way. The media often blows things out of porportion, but this is something that is okay to. People have died. I would rather we take action and not regret it, then not take action thinking the media blew it out of porportion and not be prepared.
The key here:
Don’t be afraid. Don’t panic. Being afraid and panicking will raise your stress levels and make you more vulnerable to the actual disease. Fear spreads like wildfire. It is by fear that these diseases spread so easily. Keep yourself healthy and don’t let it stress you out,if you panic you are giving yourself a higher chance of getting the disease.
Use stress the right way: Just be smart about avoiding bad and more stressful situations. Eat healthy and exercise and go on with your life as normal as possible if it is safe, but remember to avoid being overly stressed. A little stress is normal, stress that you are going to die from a disease is not. If we keep our cool but work hard to take precautions and make taking those precautions a habit, that is how we can help keep it contained.
Diseases thrive on our fear. Fear contributes to a weaker immune system.

Other people answered it better than me;
i would demand to wear a mask at work and gloves, and then sue the school if they refuse your demands of protection.

Allergy season is here in East Bay of San Francisco area and in many other parts of this nation. So, people who might have allergy problems might think they have the flu also.
Hope this flu virus is dead before long because summer is coming and flu virus always noexistent during the hotter summer.
But it looks like these flu viruses are evolving and will one day in the future strike hard from human to human transmission.
Maybe we all should start stop shaking hands and start using the Chinese bowing system instead to greet each other. Not a bad idea at all. It kind of show some respect to each other fellow human beings.

Anyone with upper respiratory ailments should be tested for a rare strain of swine flu. See your Doctor.

It’s the same as a common cold virus, runny nose, sore throat, fever..
but since the swine flu has a genetic compound of both human and animal virus, your immune system cannot fight it, since it’s only capable of fighting human viruses.

Swine flu is not much different from the avian flu that gave us a scare back in 1997. The influenza virus mutates often and we are always one step behind it. This is just another mutation of the virus that the CDC has never seen before. Pigs can actually catch the human type of unfluenze as well as the tyoe that infects birds. When a pig gets infected with more than one type of influenza strain they can mix together genetically creating a new strain we have never seen before. In this instance it is a genetic mixture between all three, human, swine and bird flu all wrapped up into a very scary and potentially pandemic threatening situation. Just to give you an idea of how dangerous this can be, in 1918 the influenza virus killed at least 22 million people and some think even up to 100 million worldwide. Now, that was 1918, our population has increased considerably then and we travel around the world so much more these days making the possibility of spreading the virus very very quickly. Take a look at this article to get a more in detail look at just how threatening it can be.

They are just like common flu:
1. Fever
2. Headache
3. Muscles aching
Just stay away from sick people and don’t let them cough/sneeze on you, wash your hands regularly, don’t share food or drinks with others, and go to the doctor immediately if one of these symptoms come up.
Hope you feel better

to stop swine flu you need to shoot the zombie in the head
never approach a “swine flu victim” (zombie), they could bite you and this spreads the virus.
stay indoors, keep a loaded gun handy.
Tune in to local news.
above all do not panic!

I think the best thing to do is to see if you can get tested for the strain by a doctor. I’m grateful it only took 81 people to die before Mexico publicized this to the world. It took 25,000 Americans to die of AIDS before it was publicly acknowledged. I hope you feel better soon.

Symptoms are the same as for any flu. The vast majority of people who have had it don’t die. Please don’t blow it out of proportion. Ordinary precautions, such as using tissue to cough or sneeze into, washing hands often or using alcohol-based rubs, avoiding touching the face, nose and mouth, avoiding close contact with those who are ill, staying home when sick, all these can help prevent transmission. Click on the link below — it’s for the CDC and find out the facts about swine flu.

The swine flu is a major concern. Dont be scared, be prepared and updated with swine flu infomration and if its in ur area. U must stay calm and act inteligently about this situation.
So far it killed 149 Mexican citizens, and even though it didn’t kill any Americans, about 50 have been treated. In the United States its been detected n 5 states — so far. Ohio, Texas, New York, Kansas and (i think California).
To prevent this, u must wash ur hands frequently for 15 second with hot water and soap. If u get symptoms such as coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, aching, sore throat, fever, fatique, its best that u seek medical attention, because u and the people around u may be at serious risk. A good treatment medicine for this is Tamiflu. It should only be taken if the symptoms are present. Look up more symptoms from medical websites on.
Almost 50 people in America are being treated for swine flu right now. No deaths occured as of yet. A school in Texas was closed for the day because two students had the flu. The whole school was left to be sanitized. And in NY about 30 students had it as well, which is a big number and a threat to more people.
This may become a pandemic, and it may become one fast. So stay cautious and alert. Check in with ur local news at least once a day and see if theres any updates about the flu and if anyone in ur state has become at risk.
Take care…
And buy Tamiflu at a local drug store, seek medical attn ASAP.

The symptoms are very much like an occasional flu but are far much more lethal in the future.
Symptoms are:
-Fever
-Emphysema
-lethargy
-Soar Throat
-Coughing
There is no drug/cure that can cure this flu apart from a vaccine which is in development starting now, but will be ready in 6 months! 149 people have died in less than 2 weeks and much more over than 2,000 people have been infected by this flu. How many people do you think will become infected or die in 6 months?

Here are some of the symptoms that sound like swine flu
- fevers
- body aches
- cough
- runny nose
- nausea and diarrhea.
It’s also useful to know if you might have had an exposure – either by recent travel to Mexico, or to the areas of known cases so far in America – California, Texas, New York, Ohio and Kansas. Or you may have been exposed to a sick person who came from those areas. The incubation time for swine flu is believed to be pretty short – 48-72 hours, and the virus seems to spread easily between people. If this sounds like your symptoms, then what do you do?
2) Don’t panic – If you have a cold or flu, and the media is full of details about a potentially lethal pandemic, it’s hard to not imagine the worst.
3) Call or go? – If you have symptoms and possible risks that sound like swine flu, call your doctor or local public health clinic before going in
Getting sick – stay home!
