I am 28 and just found out that I did not get all my vaccines as an infant and young child. My mother can’t remember even if I got any at all. She said all she remembers is that there was a shortage when she tried to get it done in the late 70′s. Will this seriously affect my health later on in life? So far I have been pretty healthy. I have got the flu about every other winter, but many people do who have had their vaccines. I do suffer from sever sinus infections. Thats about all I can think of.

What is Swine Flu?

Swine flu is a form of influenza that originated in pigs but can now be caught by and spread among people. The current outbreak started in Mexico, and has spread throughout the world. At the time of this writing there have been 159 deaths in Mexico but only one death elsewhere, a Mexican child in Texas.  

What does this mean to me?

Before we get hysterical, lets do some comparisons.  In the US, we average 173 deaths per day from “the regular flu”, or 63,000 per year.  When you compare this number to the Swine Flu, it’s not a pandemic. It’s not even a problem.

What is the problem?

Over 36,000 adverse reactions with 440 deaths were soon reported but the true incidence is much higher as reporting is voluntary so only approximately 10 % of adverse reactions get reported. This means that about 5000 infants are dying annually from the hepatitis B vaccine. The CDC’s Chief of Epidemiology admits that the frequency of serious reactions to hepatitis B vaccine is 10 times higher than other vaccines. Hepatitis B is transmitted sexually and by contaminated blood, so the incidence of this disease must be near zero in this age bracket. A vaccine expert, Dr. Philip Incao, states that “the conclusion is obvious that the risks[18] of hepatitis B vaccinat ion far outweigh the benefits. I went in recently for my annual Pap Test and the doctor had a (seemingly mandatory) talk with me about getting an HPV Vaccine. I have seen all the commercials and it does concern me, so I accepted to the series of vaccines (it’s actually 3 shots).

I usually decline the Flu Shot (because I know that they’re injecting you with actual Influenza, and that thought scares the crap out of me), but the doctor explained that they’re not injecting you with HPV, but a protein.

Though I know Gardasil is fairly new, I was wondering if there were any known side effects or unusual cases of strange symptoms due to the vaccine? Is there any reason to not get it? Is there more information you could give me about this?
