I got a flu shot 3 years ago and had no side effects or anything. I’m contemplating getting one cause I hate needles and i dont want side effects, and i was considering the nasal vaccine but I heard it can make you get flu symptoms. anyway, any advice would be great. I have a new job where I work with children and so I am a lot more suseptable to getting sick!

    Psoriasis

I would absolutely advise it. Last year, I shared an office with 2 women. I was the only one who got the flu shot. They both contracted pnemonia and ended up in the hospital. Even working in the same office, I didn’t so much as get the flu from them.

If you hate needles, get the nasal spray. I had the shot this year and my only side effect was that I couldn’t sleep on my arm that night because it was sore. You shouldn’t get flu like side effects because they are injecting a dead virus into your body. Side effects are extremely rare. Especially if you work with kids, you should get it.

Remember, the flu vaccine doesn’t protect against all strains of the flu, but it will protect you against several strains, so if that keeps you healthy for a week, I think it’s worth it.
