Exotic Green Eyes asked:

Just a concerned Mom… I got jeans from eBay in the mail today and it came from someone who had the flu and I forgot and touched them… I just don’t want to bring it in our household. I have the clothing in the washer on sanitize. Please don’t say I’m stupid for asking because some viruses can stick to clothing…
They were preowned jeans actually… She told me she hadn’t mailed them since she got the flu, so that was a week ago. Thanks for the answer, I do feel better about it…
Thanks for the answer Miaow. She told me she had the flu and that was the reason there was a delay in shipment since I had questioned why I never received my item. It was Priority mail so it had 2 days in the mail… Thanks for understanding!! =)

    It’s not a silly question…
It’s the sort of question I’d ask a lot! (actually… I have asked veeery similar questions in the past!)

To be honest, I don’t the answer.
But you can get antiseptic you can use on laundry if it helps you…

But seriously, they came through the post- virus’s can’t live that long on clothes! Don’t worry!

(I have one question for you though, how did you know that the person you bought the jeans from has the flu!?)

A virus can’t live on clothing. Even if it was there, it would eventually die because it needs a host to live off of (human, organism). And even if it could because it was sent through the mail, the virus would be long gone dead now.

It’s a good thing you washed them though. Besides viruses, who knows what else might have been on it from the previous owner, lol.
