Brad asked:

I was prescribed Tamiflu and Tussionex. The Tamiflu was hard to find because it was out of stock at a few pharmacy’s. I got the flu test at the dr.’s office and it was positive for B influenza. I started taking the prescriptions this morning. Also, i am off work for 3 days, or until monday. How long will I be contagious for? 24 hrs? or until monday?

you are contagious 3 days before the symptoms arrive and 3 days after they have left.

Unless you start taking Tamiflu within 24 hours of symptoms, it is worthless. Tamiflu will only shorten the flu’s duration by one day if you start it within 24 hours of symptoms. I think the expense is not worth it.
Anyway, Tamiflu is only active against Influenza A and not Influenza B.
